Hermit crabs and shell collectingKita McRory April
19-23, 1996
Friday, April 19 We are at Cat Cay. My dad and I went to
collect shells. We got a bunch of hermit crabs. I got three conch shells.
The hermit crabs live in old shells. There are tiny as a freckle. We
picked live conch but put them back.
Sunday, April 21 We are at Cat Cay. We got up in the dark
to leave but it was too windy.
Today we went fishing. Mom caught two, dad caught one, I caught three.
Dad's pooped all over the bucket.
I made a stingray out of clay. We see big stingrays here. I'm scared of
stringrays so I won't go swimming in the water. My friend Hana found some
shells for my collection. I threw the hermit crabs back so they wouldn't
die. I got to see one naked. My favorite color is pink.
Tuesday, April 23 We are anchored a Gun Cay. It is my mom's birthday. We went to the
beach and found lots of shells. There was a big fish beside our boat. Dad
tried to spear it with a Hawaiian sling. Mom almost caught it with the big
fishing rod. No fish for us. We are getting up early in the morning to go
to Chubb Cay. My favorite superhero is Robin and Aladdin.
